What Are Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are a soft tissue filler injected into the skin to help fill in facial wrinkles, restoring a smoother appearance. Most of these wrinkle fillers are temporary because they are eventually absorbed by the body. Recovery time following these treatments is minimal, and results last from 6 months to 2 years depending on the filler type and the area treated.
Dermal fillers can plump thin lips, enhance shallow contours, soften facial creases, replace mid face volume loss, remove wrinkles, improve the appearance of recessed scars, and can even be used to straighten the nose. There are several different types of dermal fillers which differ in chemical make-up, longevity, and have varying degrees of softness. Softer fillers are used in the lips, for example, while sturdier fillers might be desired to enhance cheekbones.
